At TriArc RX, we prioritize providing accurate and clear information about the treatments we offer. Below, you’ll find essential details about Compound Semaglutide, its uses, limitations, and safety information to help you make an informed decision.
Compound Semaglutide is an injectable medication used to assist with weight management in adults struggling with obesity or excess weight and related health conditions. It works best when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
It is designed for:
Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher (obesity).
Adults with a BMI of 27 or higher (overweight) and at least one weight-related condition (e.g., type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure).
It should not be used by:
Those with a history of thyroid cancer (MTC) or endocrine system conditions like MEN 2.
Anyone allergic to Compound Semaglutide or its ingredients.
Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals due to potential risks to the baby.
It is injected once weekly under the skin (stomach, thigh, or upper arm).
It can be taken with or without food.
Follow the dosage plan provided by your TriArc RX provider.
Do not adjust your dose or stop treatment without consulting your provider.
In animal studies, semaglutide caused thyroid tumors. While this hasn’t been confirmed in humans, individuals with a personal or family history of thyroid cancer should avoid its use. Watch for symptoms like lumps in the neck, hoarseness, or trouble swallowing.
Pancreatitis: Severe abdominal pain may indicate inflammation of the pancreas. Seek medical attention immediately.
Gallbladder Problems: Symptoms like stomach pain, jaundice, or fever may suggest gallstones.
Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia): Especially in people with diabetes, monitor for dizziness, sweating, or rapid heartbeat.
Kidney Issues: Dehydration from side effects like vomiting or diarrhea may worsen kidney problems.
Vision Changes: Report any sudden changes in eyesight if you have type 2 diabetes.
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Constipation or indigestion
Fatigue or dizziness
Injection site reactions
Compound Semaglutide is not FDA-approved and does not undergo the same rigorous evaluations as FDA-approved medications. It should not be used alongside other GLP-1 receptor agonists or weight-loss medications. Its safety in children under 18 or individuals with pancreatitis is not established.
Inform your TriArc RX provider about:
All medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
Medical history, including diabetes, thyroid issues, pancreatitis, or kidney problems.
Any plans for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
If you are using oral contraceptives, switch to a non-oral method to maintain effectiveness or add a barrier method of contraception for 4 weeks after initiation and for 4 weeks after each dose escalation.
This overview provides essential information about Compound Semaglutide but does not replace the guidance of a TriArc RX provider. For detailed instructions or further questions, consult your TriArc RX provider.
At TriArc RX, your health and safety are our priorities. Let us help you achieve your weight management goals with confidence and care.
