At TriArc RX, we aim to provide transparent and comprehensive information about compounded tirzepatide to support informed decision-making. Below, you’ll find details about its uses, risks, and important safety considerations.
Compound tirzepatide is a dual-action injectable medication that may help adults manage weight when paired with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It works as both a GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist, addressing weight-related conditions like hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol.
It is intended for:
Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher (obesity).
Adults with a BMI of 27 or higher (overweight) and at least one weight-related condition like diabetes or hypertension.
Do not use this medication if:
You or a family member have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
You have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
Administer as a subcutaneous injection in the stomach, thigh, or upper arm once weekly.
Use the injection on the same day each week.
Follow your TriArc RX provider’s dosing recommendations carefully.
In animal studies, tirzepatide caused thyroid tumors. The risk in humans is unknown. Notify your provider immediately if you notice symptoms like neck swelling, difficulty swallowing, or persistent hoarseness.
Pancreatitis: Seek medical attention for severe abdominal pain, with or without vomiting.
Gallbladder Issues: Watch for symptoms like stomach pain, jaundice, or pale stools.
Kidney Problems: Stay hydrated to avoid dehydration-related kidney issues.
Mental Health Changes: Report any mood changes or suicidal thoughts immediately.
Nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting
Constipation and indigestion
Fatigue or injection site reactions
Compound tirzepatide is not FDA-approved, meaning it does not undergo the same rigorous safety and efficacy evaluations as FDA-approved medications. It should not be used with other GLP-1 receptor agonists or weight loss products.
Inform your TriArc RX provider about your medical history, including:
Thyroid conditions or cancer
Diabetes or diabetic retinopathy
Kidney or gastrointestinal diseases
Current medications, including supplements or over-the-counter products
If you are using oral contraceptives, switch to a non-oral method to maintain effectiveness or add a barrier method of contraception for 4 weeks after initiation and for 4 weeks after each dose escalation.
Read all instructions provided with the medication.
Rotate injection sites weekly to avoid irritation.
Never share injection pens to prevent infection risks.
This summary provides essential information about compound tirzepatide but does not replace guidance from a TriArc RX provider. Always discuss your options with a TriArc RX professional to determine if compound tirzepatide is right for you.
